About the person
Stefan Berg studied communication design at the FH Potsdam with a focus on photography under Wiebke Loeper, among others. Since qualifying as a master photographer, he has worked as a studio manager and trainer. During longer stays in Belgium and France, he has worked for agencies, magazines and government institutions. He works as a freelance photographer in Berlin, designs advertising material for municipal and state institutions and takes on teaching assignments with a focus on photography, media theory or design thinking – including for the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in Dessau; the Lette-Verein Berlin, the UDK Berlin and the Hasso Plattner Institute Potsdam. Most recently, he was head of the photography department at the BEST-Sabel Design School in Berlin.
Stefan Berg’s photographic work has been exhibited widely in Germany, France and Belgium. One of his exhibitions was included in the collection of the German Embassy in Paris, another in that of the Goethe Institute in Brussels. Stefan Berg has realized photographic projects for the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes, the Robert Bosch Stiftung, the Goethe-Institut, the Deutsch-Französisches Jugendwerk, the IBA Fürst-Puckler-Land and the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin, among others.
